Meal Menus, events and activities, Holidays, special events for a Skilled Nursing facility. I have some Custom HTML 5 apps also. We also have other yodecks for employee information and stuff that would be on a Bulletin board typically. I first did this with a commodore 64 in the late 80s... for a community cable channel but had to write and modify the code to allow me to do that. its a whole lot easier and better looking. This tool was designed to simplify and speed up setup, but if used directly, you need to add a banner on the image to explain its context.

My question is: wouldn’t it be possible to display an image during the folder playback? This way, a logo could be placed in the playback area and remain visible for the entire duration.

I believe this would be an extremely useful feature. We can add some transitions or minor movement, but the entire point of the system is to keep the templates locked down and consistent.

What I’m trying to understand is:
How does Yodeck prevent image retention / burn-in on displays running mostly static templates?

I’ve seen other systems use a very subtle moving overlay or screen shift effect (even something as simple as a slow drifting pattern) specifically to prevent permanent retention while still keeping the signage visually “static.”

I’m hoping there’s a built-in option I’m overlooking — maybe a simple toggle for pixel shifting, screen drift, anti-burn protection, etc.

I’d prefer not to convert every sign into a video just to avoid burn-in since these are primarily simple text-based announcements and informational displays.

Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated.

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how digital signage is starting to follow the same evolution we’ve already seen online.

Consumers are used to personalized experiences now. Netflix recommends content. Spotify adapts playlists. Online stores change based on behavior and timing.

But in many physical spaces, screens are still static.

Same message all day.
Same promotions for everyone.
Same content regardless of timing or context.

That’s why I believe personalization in digital signage is becoming less of a “nice feature” and more of an expectation.

What’s interesting is that personalization doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s simple things:

changing content based on time of day

weather-triggered messaging

schedule-aware communication

localized content by location

dashboards that update in real time

The biggest shift is really mindset.

Instead of asking: “What content should go on this screen?”

Teams are starting to ask: “What would actually be useful right now?”

That’s when screens stop feeling passive and start becoming real-time communication tools.

I’d love to hear how others are approaching this.

Are you experimenting with personalization, automation, or AI-assisted content workflows in your signage setups yet?
